Coinbase, considered by many as the leading and most secure Bitcoin exchange in the United States, announced today it is providing live telephone support for its customers.
Since its founding in 2012, the company’s customers — now totaling 10.5 million, according to its website and a Reddit commenter — have had their interaction with Coinbase on support issues limited to online channels like chat and email.
According to the Coinbase blog:
Phone support is another step in our commitment to making Coinbase the most trusted and easiest to use digital currency exchange.
The phone number is 888-908-7930, and will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday through Friday, at least initially. The telephone support staff can help with
- Trust and safety issues including the ability for customers to lock down their account in cases where they suspect their account may have been compromised
- ID verification issues
- Limit increases
- The status of a specific purchase or sale of digital currency
- The status of a specific deposit or withdrawal of digital currency
- Questions about a customer’s account history
Chat support is still available for the latter inquiries.
The move announced today by the Bitcoin exchange endorsed by the Bitcoin Coaches will be hailed by many of its customers as a welcome step forward.
